Time Stands Still at Warwick Castle

Warwick Castle dates back more than 1,100 years and was built by William the Conqueror. It manages to take you back in time with a visit. This one is more than just a castle with an intriguing history, it’s as though the hands of time have stopped when you step on the grounds.

Warwick Castle is now owned by Merlin Entertainment, the same company that owns the London Eye, Sea Life Centres, Alton Towers, and Legoland. Merlin Entertainment took it upon themselves to preserve the natural history and beauty of the castle and build a unique theme park around it.

When you visit for the day you can enjoy the castle, of course, but also the castle grounds which are meant to look as they would have in medieval times. Explore the Great Hall in the Castle, the turrets, towers, and battlements, and get a sense of what it would have been like 1,100 years ago.

Endless Activities Await

While most castles provide you with a lesson in history, architecture, and culture, Warwick Castle takes a more interactive and entertaining approach. This location really is all about fun, as is evident in the attractions available on-site. Attractions include such things as daily shows, the Horrible Histories Maze, the Princess Tower, the Kingmaker experience, the Royal Weekend Party, and so much more. As well, there are VIP experiences that can be booked.

Stay On-Site and Get a True Sense of Castle Living

If you’re looking for a really unique experience, then you may want to consider staying on the grounds overnight. Warwick Castle offers a few different options which are the Knight’s Village Lodges, medieval glamping, and the Tower Suites.

These types of stays are perfect for families, and depending on the package you choose, you may also qualify for free parking, complimentary continental breakfast, and free Castle tickets for the second day spent on-site.

When to Visit Warwick Castle

The great thing about Warwick Castle is that it is open year-round at 10am each day. The only day it is closed is Christmas Day. Keep in mind that once spring and summer start, the Castle sees an increase in visitors. If you want to ensure you get tickets for your day of choice, you can always book and purchase them in advance.

Be Prepared for a True Adventure

A trip to Warwick Castle is a true adventure, whether you’re looking to explore the grounds or you’re looking for a longer more immersive experience. There are plenty of experiences, activities, and attractions to take in.
